Marshman's lean crock pot chili recipe details
Nice hearty crock pot chili recipe with a hint of salsa. My family loves it – just the right heat and spice level that even the kids will devour it. Serve with corn chips and corn bread if you like. This is not an overly hot chili recipe I usually use Medium salsa and 1 can of mild and 1 can of hot chilies. Just the right amount of heat and spice so can be enjoyed by all.

Ingredients
Serves: 10- 2 pounds bison or ground sirloin (very lean 90/10)
- 1 cup sweet onion (chopped)
- 2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 2 (16 ounce) jars Thick and Chunky Style Salsa
- 2 (4.5 ounce) cans chopped green chiles
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans (drained and rinsed)
- 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
- sliced green onions
- sour cream
- 2 cups Mexican-style shredded cheese
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 3 hours1. Cook bison and onions in a skillet till cooked through, stirring occasionally about 10 minutes.
2. Add meat mixture and all ingredients except for beans, green onions, sour cream, and cheese to Crock Pot.
3. Cover and cook on High for 1 hour; turn to Low for 2 hours; add beans during last hour of cooking.
4. Place in serving bowls, Garnish with a sprinkle of cheese mix, sprinkle of chopped green onions, and a dollop of sour cream.
