Marinated steak with grilled vegetables recipe details

Ingredients
Serves: 4- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 4 lean rump (round) steaks
- 2 red bell peppers, cut lengthwise in 1-inch strips
- 3 zucchini, cut lengthwise into 4 strips
- 2 red onions, cut into 1/2-inch slices
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 20 mins | Extra time: 2 hours, marinating1. Combine oil, vinegar, mustard, garlic, basil, oregano, chili flakes, and pepper in a small bowl. Pour into large resealable plastic bag and add the steaks. Seal and refrigerate to marinate for 2 hours.
2. Remove steaks from marinade. Place vegetables in bag with marinade and seal to marinate while steaks are cooking.
3. Heat your gas or charcoal grill to high (Here’s how to tell if it’s high: Hold your hand about four inches above the cooking surface. After 2 to 3 seconds, the heat will force you to pull your hand away.)
4. Oil the grill grate, using an oiled rag.
5. Place the steak on the grill. Use these cooking times to cook your steak to medium: 2 to 3 minutes per side for a 1/2 inch thick steak, 4 to 6 minutes per side for a 1 inch thick steak, 6 to 9 minutes per side for a 1 1/2 to 2 inch thick steak. Take the steaks off the grill and keep warm.
6. Remove vegetables from marinade and place on grill. Cook, turning as needed to keep from burning, for about 8 minutes until browned. Serve steaks and vegetables.
