Ingredients
Serves: 8- 1 1/2 cups apple cider or juice
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 9 garlic cloves, unpeeled
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 8 pork spareribs (about 5 1/2 pounds)
- 8 bone-in chicken thighs (about 3 pounds)
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 1 hour 30 mins | Extra time: 8 hours, marinating1. Place cider, maple syrup, garlic, canola oil, soy sauce, cinnamon, star anise, and crushed red pepper flakes. Remove 1 1/2 cups and place in a separate plastic bag. Add meats, seal, turn to coat, and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Keep remaining marinade in the refrigerator for later use.
2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and coat a shallow roasting pan with nonstick cooking spray.
3. Remove meat from marinade and discard the bag of used sauce. Place ribs and chicken in the prepared pan. Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, brushing the remaining marinade over meats every 20 to 30 minutes.
