Lumberjack cabbage goulash recipe details

Ingredients
Serves: 10- 1 pound bulk pork (or Italian) sausage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 (28 ounce) can chopped tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 10 cups shredded cabbage, about 1 medium head
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper (optional)
- 4 cups grated cheddar cheese (optional)
- 1 cup diced green bell pepper (optional)
- 4 cups corn kernals (optional)
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 40 mins1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and spray a coat of non-stick cooking spray on a 13×9-inch baking dish.
2. In a large soup pot over medium heat, put sausage, beef, and onion, and cook until brown. Drain off fat.
3. Add all remaining ingredients except for the cabbage and rice. Stir. Then add the cabbage and simmer until cabbage is tender, about 17 minutes.
4. Add cooked rice and stir until all ingredients are well incorporated.
5. In the baking dish, layer the cabbage mixture with cheese, bell pepper, and corn if using, finishing with cheese sprinkled on the top of the casserole. Heat in oven for about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
