Lion s head casserole recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | minced pork |
1 tbsp | spring onions, finely chopped |
1 tsp | ginger root, finely chopped |
60 g | mushrooms, chopped |
50 g | cooked prawns, peeled, finely chopped or crab meat, finely chopped |
2 tbsp | soy sauce |
1 tsp | brown sugar |
1 tbsp | Chinese rice wine |
2 tbsp | cornflour |
800 g | Napa cabbage, cut into large pieces |
4 tbsp | vegetable oil |
1 tsp | salt |
200 ml | chicken stock |
Instructions
Mix together pork, spring onions, ginger, mushrooms, prawns or crab meat, soy sauce, sugar, rice wine and cornflour. Form into 6 meatballs.Heat oil in a preheated wok or heavy based pan. Add the cabbage and salt and stir-fry for about 3 minutes. Add the meatballs and the stock, bring to the boil and simmer gently for about 50 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked and the cabbage is soft.
Serve with noodles.
