Linzer torte recipe details
Ingredients
For the dough: | |
150 g | flour |
½ tsp | baking powder |
80 g | ground almonds |
2 tbsp | cocoa powder |
½ tsp | cinnamon |
75 g | brown sugar |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
½ | lemon, the juice |
100 g | cold butter, in pieces |
1 | egg |
For the filling: | |
200 g | raspberry jam |
1 | egg yolk, to brush the dough |
Instructions
Quickly knead together the ingredients for the dough until well combined and press 2/3 into a 22cm cake dish. Pull the dough up on the sides for approximately 2cm. Prick the dough with a fork and bake blind at 160°C for 15 minutes.Meanwhile roll out the remaining dough and cut into small stripes.
Spread the jam onto the baked cake and decorate the cake with the dough stripes. Brush the stripes with egg yolk and bake the cake at 160°C for another 35 minutes.
Let cool completely, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve with whipping cream.
Note:
The cake will be better if you prepare it one day ahead.
You can use redcurrant jelly as an alternative to raspberry jam.
