Lime basil sorbet recipe details
Ingredients
120 ml | water |
100 g | sugar |
20 | fresh basil leaves, chopped |
120 ml | fresh lime juice |
6 sprig(s) | fresh basil for garnish |
Instructions
Combine sugar, water and basil leaves in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Cover and simmer 5 minutes. Leave to cool and add the fresh lime juice. Stir.Puree in a food processor or blender, until smooth. Strain and transfer lime basil mixture to a small and shallow pan; cover and freeze until firm.
Remove from the freezer, puree again in a blender and put in a small bowl, cover and freeze.
To serve use a melon baller to make 1 to 3 small sorbet balls, place in a chilled glass or bowl, garnish with basil sprigs and serve as a starter or appetizer.
Can be prepared one day in advance.
