Japanese Style Deep Fried Broccoli recipe
Ingredients
40 g | cornflour |
60 g | flour |
1 tsp | baking powder |
1 medium | egg |
125 ml | sparkling water |
2 tsp | wasabi paste |
500 g | broccoli, in small florets |
oil for deep-frying |
Instructions
Sieve the cornflour, flour and baking powder into a bowl. Whisk in the egg and stir in the water and wasabi paste. Allow to soak for 20 minutes.
Turn the broccoli in the dough and make sure the florets are well coated.
In a deep pan heat the oil. Deep-fry the broccoli until golden and crispy. Drain on kitchen paper and serve e.g. with Japanese soy sauce.
