Italian lasagna recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | minced meat, pork and beef |
1 | onion, chopped |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
1 bunch(es) | parsley, chopped |
1 tbsp | tomato puree |
2 large can(s) | tomatoes, peeled and diced |
½ l | milk |
30 g | butter |
40 g | flour |
300 g | lasagna sheets, you may need some more |
salt and pepper | |
200 g | freshly grated Parmesan cheese |
red wine | |
nutmeg | |
2 tbsp | oil |
Instructions
In a saucepan, heat the oil and fry the onion, garlic and mince over medium heat for 10 minutes or until the meat is browned and crumbled. Stir in the tomato purée and add the parsley. Cook for some more minutes. Pour in the canned tomatoes. Season with red wine, salt and pepper and simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes.In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add the flour and cook stirring for 1-2 minutes. Pour in the milk, stirring constantly with a wire whisk. Cook for 5-10 minutes and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
Preheat the oven to 190°C.
In a buttered casserole dish, layer in turn mince sauce, lasagna sheets, mince sauce, bechamel, lasagna sheets, mince sauce, bechamel and so on. Finish with bechamel and sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese.
Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown.
