50 g | rye flour |
1 tsp | baking powder |
1 tsp | bicarbonate of soda |
1 tsp | salt |
1 tsp | mixed Italian herbs |
1 tbsp | red wine vinegar |
275 ml | Carlsberg (or other beer) |
Instructions
Put all dry ingredients into a glass bowl and mix together thoroughly, then add the beer and vinegar and mix well together with a wooden spoon (no electric mixer necessary) until it forms a gooey dough.
Put the dough into a small baking tin and bake in a preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes at 220°C. The upper crust should be nicely browned when bread is ready.
This bread is very tasty, but you will not taste the beer. It has a very light texture and it is great for toasting.
