Ingredients
Serves: 4- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 slices white bread, crumbled
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped parsley
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 teaspoon sage
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 25 mins1. Pour 1 tablespoon of oil into a large skillet and place over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic in hot oil for 7 minutes to soften, then pour into a mixing bowl and toss with bread crumbs and milk. Let the bread mixture rest for 1 minute.
2. Stir in ground turkey, parsley, egg, cheese, sage, and salt. Form into 1-inch meatballs, then coat with flour.
3. Pour the last tablespoon of oil into the skillet and place over medium heat again. Cook meatballs in hot oil for about 3 minutes, then stir in tomatoes. Boil, then simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, until meatballs are cooked completely.
4. Serve over pasta if desired.
