Hot tomato sauce recipe details
Ingredients
1 tsp | olive oil |
60 g | bacon, cut into thin strips |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
250 g | mushrooms, sliced |
800 g | tomatoes, canned, undrained |
2 tbsp | fresh parsley, chopped |
½ tsp | dried oregano |
½ tsp | red pepper flakes |
black pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Heat oil in medium saucepan over high heat. Stir in bacon, onion and garlic. Cook, whilst stirringfor about 3 minutes or until onion is tender. Add mushrooms and cook, whilst stirring, for 2 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.Add tomatoes, parsley, oregano, red pepper and black pepper to saucepan. Bring to a boil and cover. Slightly reduce heat and simmer 50-60 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.
