Ingredients

3/4 cup dark brown sugar

1/3 cup plus 1 Tablespoon shortening

1 Tablespoon honey

1 to 2 teaspoons water

Instructions:

Mix sugar, shortening and honey on slow. Add water. Scrape bowl and continue mixing on medium speed for 2 minutes.

Smear muffin cups. Fill 3/4 full with muffin batter. Bake at 360 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes (done when firm in center). Turn out onto wax paper.

I use General Mills Gold Medal Honey ‘N Bran muffin mix….. Karen Bennett
