Honey bbq chicken sandwiches recipe details
Boneless chicken breasts baked in a spicy honey barbecue marinade, topped with Pepper Jack and caramelized onions. Booyah!

Ingredients
Serves: 2- 2 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 Vidalia onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 4 slices Pepper Jack cheese
- 2 kaiser rolls
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 35 mins | Extra time: 2 hours, marinating1. Combine barbecue sauce, Worcestershire, honey, mustard, cardamom, and cayenne in a resealable plastic bag. Add chicken. Close and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and coat a small glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
3. Place chicken in baking dish with marinade poured on top of it, cover with foil, and bake for 35 minutes, until chicken is no longer pink in the middle and internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
4. While baking the chicken, heat olive oil in a skillet. When oil is sizzling, add the onions and coat them with the olive oil. Add salt, pepper and sugar. Caramelize until browned to your desire and set aside.
5. When the chicken is done, place breasts on toasted kaiser roll buns and top with cheese, caramelized onions, and mayo if desired.
