Heavy rescue chili recipe details
Serve this chili with Mexican blended cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips and hot sauce. When ready to eat, mix the cheese into the chili in your bowl, put a dollop of sour cream on top and dabble the hot sauce sauce to taste – I personally like Cholula(R). It is great to use the chips to eat with until you get towards the bottom of the bowl.

Ingredients
Serves: 4- 2 pounds 85% lean ground beef
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 red onion, chopped
- 1 (14 ounce) can crushed tomatoes, drained
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1 (12 ounce) can sweet corn, drained
- (15 ounce) can black beans
- (15 ounce) can red beans
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 2 tablespoons chili powder, or more to taste
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 4 hours 15 mins1. In a large skillet, brown the beef while pulling it apart into smaller pieces. Drain the excess fat and add the butter along with the red onion and garlic and cook until mixed throughout the beef.
2. Put the mixture into a 4-quart crock pot. Add the rest of the ingredients into the crock pot and mix. Cook on high heat for an hour, stirring every 15-20 minutes.
3. Turn to low heat for an additional 3 hours and stir occasionally while you taste for seasoning.
