Healthy beer turkey chili with brown rice recipe details

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 5 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- Salt and pepper
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes, chopped
- 1 (12 ounce) bottle beer
- 2 cups water
- 3/4 cup brown rice
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 1 hour1. Grab a large soup pot. Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil and heat. Cook the turkey in the hot oil for 10 minutes or until browned, sprinkling with salt and pepper as you cook. Add more olive oil if need be. Once browned, remove from pan.
2. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil and cook the onion in it over medium until it’s just starting to sweat, about 5 minutes over medium heat. Then add all remaining ingredients (except for cooked turkey), bring to a boil, and simmer on low for 35 minutes. Add turkey and simmer for another 25 minutes. Serve.
