Hamburger buns for two recipe details
This is a great little recipe for singles or couples who only want 4 buns using a bread machine. They are the lightest hamburger buns I have ever eaten. They have a great crumb and a wonderful texture.
Ready in: 2 hours 25 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 2- 1/3 cup warm milk
- 1/4 stick of butter room temp
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1-3/4 cups bread flour
- 1 teaspoon bread machine yeast
Preparation method
Prep: 2 hours 10 mins | Cook: 15 mins1. Add all ingredients to bread machine as suggested by machine manufacturer.
2. Select Dough cycle. Press START. You may have to use a rubber spatula to help mix the ingredients from the corners of the pan for the first few minutes. Also, check dough consistency. (A tablespoon of flour or milk as needed.)
3. When done, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and cut into 4 equal sections.
4. Shape each into a ball then flatten to the size of a standard hamburger patty.
5. Place each ‘dough patty’ equally on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and let rise again in a cold oven until doubled in bulk, maybe 45 minutes or so.
6. Do NOT preheat your oven. (A little ‘oven spring’ is always welcomed.)
7. When doubled, simply turn oven to 375 degrees F, (190 degrees C), and bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
8. Place on wire rack to cool for 30 minutes before cutting in half.
9. NOTE: If you do not have a Dough cycle, use White bread setting and STOP the machine after the first rise/punch. It should be left to rise about an hour. White bread settings are not usually that long, (Check your manual), so, close the lid and let it rise about another 15 minutes.
