Ham with orange apricot glaze recipe details
Served for the 1st time Christmas day. Everyone enjoyed it immensely, considering I created recipe in about 10 min.
Ready in: 2 hours 15 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 12- 1 6-8 pounds ham (your choice cut)
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup apricot fruit spread
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apricot nectar
- 1/8 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 dash cinnamon
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- approx. 1/8 cup water, cold
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 2 hours1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Fill roasting pan approx. 1″ full of water.
3. Place ham cut side down and bake for 1hr.
4. Approx. 45 min into bake time, combine rest of ingredients, except water and corn starch, in a small sauce pan.
5. Combine cornstarch and approx. 1/8 cup water.
6. Simmer ingredients, stirring in cornstarch mix until thickened to sauce consistency, remove from heat.
7. Brush sauce onto ham, approx. every 10 to 15 min for another hour or until ham is done according directions on ham.
8. Slice and enjoy!
9. Optional: Combine approx 1/4 cup of sauce and 1/4 cp of warm water and using a “flavor injector” inject sauce mix into ham during last part of baking process.
