Grilled onion rye toasts recipe details
Fire up the grill and serve these cheesy, grilled onion toasts with plenty of beer. Throw a few sausages on the grill and you have yourself a meal, buddy!

Ingredients
Serves: 6- 1 red onion, thickly sliced
- 2 yellow onions, thickly sliced
- 6 thick slices rye bread
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
- 1 1/2 cups grated Gruyere cheese
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 15 mins1. Preheat grill to medium.
2. Coat onion slices and bread slices with olive oil. Set on grill and cook, flipping as necessary, for 5 minutes to toast bread; remove bread and continue cooking onions for another 5 minutes, until tender.
3. Stir onions together with parsley, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
4. Whisk sour cream together with mustard. Coat the toasted bread with the mixture, then divide the onion mixture among the toasts. Top with cheese.
5. Set toasts back on the grill, close lid, and cook for another 4 minutes to melt cheese. Serve.
