Grampa Dave is at it again with a tried and true recipe for chili that uses beer and coffee as flavorizers. This version of the American favorite is not too hot, but real long on flavor. If you like my Barbeque Sauce, I promise you’ll like this, too!

Ingredients
Serves: 8- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef chuck or round
- 2 onions, chopped
- 5 cloves garlic, minced or crushed
- 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chiles
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 5 heaping tablespoons chili powder
- 1 heaping tablespoon cumin
- 2 (14 1/2 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
- 5 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans – drain 2 cans
- 1 (12 ounce) can or bottle of beer
- 1/2 cup brewed coffee
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 1 hour1. Crumble and cook the beef until almost medium and drain off the liquid.
2. Add the chopped onion and cook, covered, until the onion is translucent. Add the minced garlic, green chiles, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder and cumin and cook for a couple of minutes.
3. Add the remaining ingredients and cook over low heat for an hour (or more).
