Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup oil
1/4 cup dark molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
Granulated sugar
Instructions:

Mix brown sugar, oil, molasses, and egg well. Gradually blend dry ingredients into molasses mixture. Form dough into small balls, roll in granulated sugar, and bake on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes: about 3 dozen
