Ingredients

Serves: 12
  • 8 ounce self rising flour
  • 1 1/2 ounces sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 2 ounce butter
  • raisins to taste
  • 2 tablespoons milk, or as needed to bind and glaze

Preparation method

Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 12 mins

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Sieve the flour, sugar and salt.
3. Add the butter and mix with hands until a breadcrumb consistency is achieved. Add raisins and mix with hands. Slowly add a small amount of milk until the mixture is solid but crumbles slightly.
4. Roll out mixture about an inch thick and cut with a cutter. Brush the tops of the scones with more milk.
5. Bake in the preheated oven until a knife inserted in the center comes clean, 12-18 minutes.
