French toast 'al orange recipe details
- Ingredients:
- 4 thick slices of French bread
- 3 eggs
- 1/8 teaspoon orange extract
- 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-1/2 cups half & half
With beaters mix eggs, extracts, and half and half until fully blended.
Place French bread in a greased 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread, turning bread several times until completely absorbed. Sprinkle with cinnamon and place two thin slices of oranges on top to garnish. Cover with plastic and refrigerate overnight.
Remove plastic and bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with syrup of choice. We serve with homegrown raspberry syrup.
