Fragrant Thai Rice Jasmine Rice recipe
|300 g||fragrant rice (Jasmine rice), preferably from Thailand|
Wash the rice in cold water until the water stays almost clear.
Bring rice and water to boil, do not cover the pot. When boiling, turn the heat down as low as possible and cover with a lid. Simmer for 10 minutes, then switch the heat off and set the pot aside for another 20 minutes or until your meal is ready to be served.
The amount of water depends on the age of the rice, the fresher, the less water is needed. To wash the rice before cooking helps to make it fluffy, it removes the starch.
