Feta cheese stuffed artichoke hearts recipe details
Ingredients
12 | artichoke hearts, canned, drained |
1 pack(s) | Feta cheese, cut into 12 pieces |
1 | spring onion, chopped |
flour | |
breadcrumbs | |
1 medium | egg |
150 g | Parma ham, diced |
200 ml | single cream |
1 tbsp | chives, chopped |
oil | |
salt and pepper |
Instructions
Lengthwise cut a slot into each artichoke heart. Fill each slot with a piece of the cheese. Slightly press together and tighten with toothpicks.Break the egg into a soup plate and whisk slightly with a fork. In another plate fill some flour and in a third breadcrumbs. Turn the artichoke hearts first in the flour, then in egg and finally in the breadcrumbs. Place into the fridge for 30 minutes.
In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté the onion and the ham for a minute. Pour in the cream. Purée the mixture with a hand blender. Season to taste with pepper.
In a saucepan, heat oil and deep-fry the artichoke hearts until golden brown and crispy all around..
Serve the artichokes with the sauce and sprinkled with chives.
