One of the first deep-fried foods, these tasty balls of mashed up beans and spices are devoured by hungry guys all over the world.

Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1 (16 ounce) can garbanzo beans
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons chickpea flour or flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 20 mins1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse until blended well.
2. Form the paste into 1-inch balls, then press gently with your palm to flatten to 3/4-inch thickness.
3. Bring 2 inches of oil to 350 degrees F in a deep fryer, according to manufacturer’s instructions.
4. Working in batches, cook the patties in hot oil for about 6 minutes to brown well. Drain on paper towels, then serve.
