Ingredients
Serves: 8- 4 pounds bone-in beef short-ribs, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 1 (12 ounce) bottle chili sauce
- 3/4 cup plum preserves
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Preparation method
Prep: 25 mins | Cook: 6 hours1. Cover the bottom of the slow-cooker with onions.
2. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs in batches in the hot oil. Place in slow cooker with the onions. Cook on Low for 5 hours.
3. To make the sauce, combine the chili sauce, preserves, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire, Dijon, and cloves in a saucepan and heat over medium for about 5 minutes to warm everything up.
4. Open the slow cooker and remove any fat in the juices from the ribs. Then pour the sauce in the slow cooker to cover the ribs, replace the lid of the slow cooker, and turn heat up to High. Cook for 30 more minutes.
