Ingredients
230 g | sweet shortcrust pastry |
400 ml | condensed milk |
300 ml | milk, hot |
½ tsp | salt |
½ tsp | vanilla |
3 medium | eggs, beaten |
nutmeg, ground |
Instructions
Line a tart tin(23cm) with the pastry and bake until set. Preheat the oven to 200°C.Combine the condensed milk, hot milk, salt and vanilla essence in a large bowl and stir to mix. Add the eggs and mix well. Pour the mixture into the baked pastry case and sprinkle some nutmeg over the top of the custard mixture.
Bake in the oven for 10 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 170°C and bake the tart for further 30 minutes or until the filling begins to firm up.
Serve warm or cold.
