Ingredients
For the dough: | |
200 g | wheat flour |
1 | egg |
1 tbsp | sugar |
100 g | butter |
½ sachet | active dry yeast |
125 ml | lukewarm milk |
For the topping: | |
fruit of your choice, prepared (pitted, sliced) | |
For the crumbles: | |
5 tbsp | sugar |
5 tbsp | flour |
150 g | butter |
1 sachet | vanilla sugar |
Instructions
Combine the flour with the egg, sugar, butter, yeast and the warm milk and knead until the dough is smooth and pliable. Leave to rise at a warm place until doubled in size.Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease a baking tray.
Knead the dough again, transfer onto the tray and flatten to the thickness of 1-2cm. Divide fruit of your choice on top.
Knead together with your fingertips the sugar, flour, vanilla sugar and butter until crumbly. Sprinkle the fruit with the crumbles and bake for 20-30 minutes.
Note:
For the topping use fruit of the season, like pitted cherries, sliced apples or pears or halved and pitted plums. If no fresh fruit available, use canned fruit like apricots or peaches.
