Cream cheese mousse with brandy sauce recipe details
Ingredients
230 g | cream cheese |
tbsp | gelatin, unflavoured, dissolved in 120 ml water |
60 g | sugar |
60 ml | milk |
1 tbsp | rum |
½ tsp | grated lemon rind |
3 medium | eggs, whites only, beaten until stiff |
240 ml | whipping cream, whipped |
For the brandy sauce: | |
100 g | sugar |
1 tbsp | cornstarch, dissolved in 120 ml water |
3 medium | eggs, yolks only, beaten |
1 tbsp | brandy |
Instructions
Soften gelatin in water and dissolve over low heat.In a bowl, blend cream cheese with sugar, add milk, lemon juice, rum, lemon rind, and gelatin mixture. Chill until thickened.
When chilled, whip mixture well. Fold in egg whites and whipped cream.
Pour into an oiled mold and chill until set.
Combine all ingredients for the brandy sauce and serve with mousse.
