Ingredients
Serves: 2- 1/4 cup finely ground espresso or strong coffee beans
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 (6-8 ounce) beef tenderloin steaks
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 10 mins | Extra time: 30 mins, marinating1. Sift together coffee grinds, cinnamon, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, salt and black pepper.
2. Pat the steaks dry, then coat them generously in mixture on all sides until completely covered.
3. Place in the refrigerator for 1/2 hour to meld the flavors.
4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (190 degrees C).
5. Heat large pan between medium high and high heat. Place the oil in the pan.
6. Sear the first side of each steak for about 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. Flip the steaks and place the entire pan into oven.
7. Bake for approximately 4-5 minutes for medium rare or until desired doneness
8. Let steaks rest, tented with foil for at least five minutes before serving.
9. Garnish with whole coffee beans and whole cinnamon sicks.
