Ingredients

700 g white fish fillets
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fennel seeds
50 g coconut, shredded
2 tbsp ginger, ground
2  dried chilies, soaked in water
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
½ tbsp turmeric
2 tbsp butter
350 ml water
1  onion, chopped
2 tbsp coriander, chopped

Instructions

Cut fillets into thick slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice and set aside.

Sauté the cumin, fennel seeds and coconut until lightly golden. Grind to a powder in a spice grinder.

Grind the ginger, chillies, garlic and onion to a paste and the turmeric.

Fry the prepared seasoning paste in the butter for 2 minutes, stirring. Add water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 6 minutes.

Add the fish with half of the coriander and cook until the fish is tender, about 6 minutes.

Serve with rice, garnishing with coriander.
