Coconut fish curry recipe details
Ingredients
700 g | white fish fillets |
2 tsp | lemon juice |
1 tsp | cumin seeds |
1 tsp | fennel seeds |
50 g | coconut, shredded |
2 tbsp | ginger, ground |
2 | dried chilies, soaked in water |
2 clove(s) | garlic, minced |
½ tbsp | turmeric |
2 tbsp | butter |
350 ml | water |
1 | onion, chopped |
2 tbsp | coriander, chopped |
Instructions
Cut fillets into thick slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice and set aside.Sauté the cumin, fennel seeds and coconut until lightly golden. Grind to a powder in a spice grinder.
Grind the ginger, chillies, garlic and onion to a paste and the turmeric.
Fry the prepared seasoning paste in the butter for 2 minutes, stirring. Add water and bring to a boil. Simmer for 6 minutes.
Add the fish with half of the coriander and cook until the fish is tender, about 6 minutes.
Serve with rice, garnishing with coriander.
