Citrus tuna steaks recipe details
Ingredients1. Tuna steaks or fillets (4 about 6 ounce)
2. grapefruit (1pink)
3. ground ginger (1/2tsp)
4. crushed red pepper flakes (1tsp)
5. snipped fresh dill (1tbsp)
6. honey (2tbsp)
7. lime juice (1/4c)
8. lemon juice (1/4c)
Method of preparation
1. Take grapefruit, peel it and cut it into pieces in a bowl. Take another bowl, reserve its juice in it. Keep half of the grapefruit pieces in the refrigerator and put the rest of the pieces in the reserved grapefruit juice.
2. Then add honey, lime juice, lemon juice, ginger, red pepper flakes and dill in it and mix them well. Take out ¼ cup of this mixture for basting, cover it and then keep it in the refrigerator.
3. Take a plastic bag, pour the rest of the marinade in the bag and then add tuna steaks in it. Now seal the bag and shake it to coat the steaks and then place the bag in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
4. Now coat the rack of the grill with cooking spray. Take out the plastic bag of tuna steaks, drain tuna steaks from it and then throw out the marinade from it.
5. Place tuna on grill, uncovered and then grill it for about 6 to 7 minutes over medium heat on each side, then basting the fish with reserved marinade and then place reserved grapefruit pieces on the top of tuna steaks. Now cover it and keep it to cook for about 5 minutes until the fish gets flake easily with fork.
