Christmas garlic prawns recipe details
Ingredients
24 large | prawns, in shells |
80 g | butter |
3 tbsp | olive oil |
50 ml | lemon juice |
4 stalks | spring onion, finely chopped |
4 clove(s) | garlic, crushed |
12 | lemon wedges for decoration |
salt and pepper to taste |
Instructions
Slit down the prawns at the back and open them like a butterfly. Remove the vein. Heat up the oven grill. Melt the butter in a shallow baking dish. Mix in the olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and salt and pepper.Dunk in the prawns, coating them well and place them side by side, shells down. Grill for about 5 minutes or until cooked.
Place prawns on a hot serving platter, pour the sauce over it and decorate with lemon wedges. Serve with rice and green salad.
Variation: Add freshly chopped herbs to the sauce (parsley, basil etc.)
