Ingredients
500 g | potatoes, peeled, sliced |
6 medium | eggs, hard boiled, cooled, sliced |
3 | leeks, sliced |
120 g | Cheddar cheese, grated |
1 tbsp | Parmesan cheese, grated |
80 g | butter |
60 g | flour |
450 ml | milk |
100 ml | white wine |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Sauce:Place the milk, flour and butter in a pan and bring to a boil, whisking continuously. When the sauce thickens, add the 2/3 of the Cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese. Cook for 5 minutes and set aside. Season with salt and pepper.
Vegetables:
Boil the potatoes until soft. Drain and mash with a fork. Cook the leeks in a little butter, then add the sliced Leeks to the mash.
Gratin:
Butter a large baking dish. Arrange egg slices on the bottom of the dish. Place the potato-leek mixture over the eggs and pour the white wine and then the sauce over the top.
Sprinkle the remaining Cheddar cheese on top, and bake in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180°C.
