Ingredients
Serves: 4- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 16 (1/2-inch) cubes Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup whiskey
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Black pepper, to taste
Preparation method
Prep: 20 mins | Cook: 25 mins1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and coat a loaf baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Gently mix onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and ground beef in a bowl. Split into eight equal mounds and flatten.
3. Wrap each mound around a cheese cube. Place in prepared baking dish.
4. Whisk ketchup, whiskey, Worcestershire, lemon juice, and black pepper together in a bowl, then pour over the meatballs.
5. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes to cook meat thoroughly.
