My aunt has been making this recipe since she married my uncle. One day, my mother borrowed the recipe and invited them for dinner. My uncle thought it was the best chili he had ever had and told my aunt she should get the recipe for it to make it later. Suffice to say, my aunt was not pleased – but she still makes it for him.

Ingredients
Serves: 8- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- salt and pepper
- 1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes
- 4 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 3 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans
- 1-2 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 2 hours1. In pot, brown beef, onion and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Add tomatoes and bring to a simmer.
2. In a small bowl, mix chili powder, sugar and 1/4 c water until dissolved – add to meat.
3. Let simmer for 90 minutes. Add undrained pinto beans and kidney beans. Bring to a boil.
