Ready in: 50 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 8
- 1 container spreadable Cheddar cheese
- 2 packages frozen puff pastry, defrosted but still firm
Preparation method
Prep: 40 mins | Cook: 10 mins
1. Preheat oven to 450 F and butter 2 large baking sheets.
2. Each pastry package comes as two “blocks”. Separate blocks and on a lightly floured surface, roll out pastry sheets to 1/8″ thickness.
3. Spread a generous amount of cheese evenly over 1 rectangle and top with the other rectangle. Roll out pastry to make layers adhere.
4. With a sharp knife or pastry wheel cut lengthwise into 1/4 inch wide strips.
5. Taking hold of both ends of each “straw”, twist in opposite directions. Arrange cheese straws about 1″ apart on baking sheets.
6. CHILL cheese twists for 20 minutes (or overnight).
7. Bake cheese straws in middle of preheated oven until golden, about 10 minutes. Transfer cheese straws to a rack and cool.
8. Enjoy!
