Cafe au lait recipe details
French style coffee, literally translated is coffee with milk. It sounds simple, but it is oh so much better than it sounds.
Ready in: 10 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 4- 2 cups half and half
- 2 cups strong coffee
- 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar
Preparation method
Prep: 5 mins | Cook: 5 mins1. Heat half and half over low heat in a saucepan, making sure not to boil (I’ve heard that you need to cook the cream until it forms a skin and then remove it, but I prefer not to heat it that long.)
2. Add coffee to the half and half.
3. Add sugar to the carafe.
4. Return the coffee and half and half mixture back into the carafe.
5. Serve with beignets (French donuts,) and enjoy.
