Cabbage and bacon turnovers recipe details
Ingredients
600 g | ready rolled out puff pastry |
500 g | white cabbage, sliced |
some | butter |
75 g | bacon, diced |
5 tbsp | crème fraîche |
2 | hard boiled eggs, peeled and diced |
salt and pepper | |

Instructions
In a saucepan, heat the butter. Add the cabbage, bacon and a pinch of caraway. Fry over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in the crème fraîche and season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover and cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Remove from heat, allow to cool down and stir in the eggs.Preheat the oven to 220°C.
Roll out the puff pastry and cut out rounds with a glass. Place a little cabbage mixture onto each circle and fold the pastry over the filling, to get half moon shaped turnovers. Fimly press together the edges.
Arrange the turnovers on a lined baking tray and bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve hot, together with yoghurt or sour cream.
