- Ingredients:
- 2 grapefruits
- 4 Tablespoons brown sugar (1 Tablespoon for each grapefruit half)
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- *topping of your choice (suggestions below)
- *Toppings
- Fresh strawberry
- Fresh raspberry
- Lemon curd
- Slivered almond slices, lightly toasted
- 1/2 teaspoon of your favorite jam, jelly or marmalade
- Robertson’s Golden Three Fruits Marmalade
- Maraschino cherry, with 1/2 teaspoon of Maraschino cherry juice per half grapefruit
Instructions:
Use grapefruit that is at room temperature. If using grapefruit directly from refrigerator, allow extra broiling/microwave cooking time. Cut grapefruits into halves. With sharp paring knife, section halves by cutting along the membrane that forms the triangular-shaped pieces. Generously sprinkle brown sugar on tops. Dot with butter. Set on cookie sheet and place under the broiler until sugar is caramelized and the grapefruit is warm, approximately 2 to 3 minutes for broiling, 2 minutes for microwave preparation.
