Beef wrapped in basil and ham recipe details
Ingredients
500 g | fillet steaks |
200 g | Italian raw ham, thinly sliced |
120 ml | olive oil |
20 ml | lemon juice |
1 tbsp | black pepper, freshly ground |
1 pinch(es) | salt |
1 bunch(es) | basil leaves, only half of the bunch finely chopped |
5 small | balls Mozzarella cheese |
toothpicks or cooking string |
Instructions
Place fillet steak in a bowl with olive oil, lemon juice, chopped basil, salt and pepper and marinate for at least 6 hours.Slice fillet steak into 2 cm thick medallions.
Cut cheese into small pieces.
Make a vertical incision into each medallion of meat and place the cheese inside the meat.
Wrap 1 Basil leaf around the fillet and finaly wrap a small piece of raw ham around the piece of meat.
Use toothpick to hold everything together and then place in a skillet or on your grill to cook.
