Ingredients
Serves: 6- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 12 oz. bottle of beer
- 1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes (with juice)
- 1 15 oz. can chili beans
- 1 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 lb. beef jerky
Preparation method
Prep: 10 mins | Cook: 1 hour 10 mins1. Fry the chopped bacon in a deep pot over medium high heat until it’s crispy, about 8 minutes. Remove the bacon from the pot but leave the drippings.
2. Keeping the heat on medium high, put the chopped onion, chopped green pepper, and chopped garlic into the pot and saute until soft. Takes about 10 minutes.
3. Add the beer, diced tomatoes, chili beans, tomato paste, chili powder, oregano, cumin, and cayenne pepper. Keep on medium high until the chili is simmering fast, then turn down to low and keep it at a simmer. Simmer for 20 minutes.
4. Add the beef jerky. Simmer for 30 more minutes, or until the beef jerky is tender.Tip
No need to add extra salt, the beef jerky has plenty.
