Asparassants recipe details
A simple and fun way to dress up asparagus. This easy recipe lends itself to all sorts of seasoning experiments.
Ready in: 30 mins
Ingredients
Serves: 24- 1 bunch of asparagus
- 1 tube of croissant dough
- seasonings to taste
Preparation method
Prep: 16 mins | Cook: 14 mins1. Trim off the bottom couple of inches of the asparagus leaving the more tender tops.
2. Put asparagus in a large pot of boiling salted water for 3 minutes.
3. Remove the asparagus and place in a bowl of ice water.
4. On a suitable work surface, unroll the croissant dough, but do not break it apart in those little triangles. Instead, cut it into 1/2″ wide strips.
5. Remove the asparagus from the ice water and pat it dry.
6. Wrap the dough strips around the asparagus like a barber pole, and pinch the ends to hold it in place.
7. Put them on a baking sheet and season to taste.
8. Our favorite is to spray them with butter flavored Pam, salt, pepper, garlic powder & a bit of grated Parmesan cheese.
9. Bake the asparassants per the instructions on the croissant tube until golden brown.
10. Enjoy!
