Bbq prawns with thai dipping sauce nam jim talee recipe details
Ingredients
1 handful | prawns, the fresher the better |
2 | limes, fillets only, all white skins removed |
6 sprig(s) | cilantro, including roots |
4 tbsp | garlic |
4 tbsp | chilies |
1 tbsp | palm sugar, namthan peep |
1 tsp | salt |
2 tbsp | cilantro leaves, chopped |
Instructions
Cut cilantro sprigs about 5cm above the roots, chop roots and stems. Put into a mortar, add ¾ teaspoon of salt and the garlic. Pound until all is soft. Add chilies and continue to pound. Add lime fillets and pound until a smooth paste is formed. Add palm sugar and chopped cilantro leaves. Add as much sugar and salt until a “round” taste is achieved.Prepare BBQ.
Clean prawns well, leave shells intact. Grill prawns until they are pink and the skin is starting to burn. Serve with the dipping sauce.
This dip goes well with all seafood.
