Baked winter squash recipe details
Ingredients
2 | winter squash |
2 tbsp | butter, melted |
1 medium | onion, chopped |
60 g | Cheddar cheese, grated |
30 g | breadcrumbs |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Instructions
Wash squash and make a slit in the squash to let the steam escape during cooking.Preheat oven to 180°C and bake for 1-1.5 hours or until inside is soft.
Cut in half and remove seeds and stringy parts.
Scoop out some of the cooked squash and mash it. Combine with butter, chopped onions, cheese, bread crumbs and season with salt and pepper.
Fill the shell with mixture and bake for 15-20 minutes.
