Baked blueberry french toast recipe details
- Ingredients
- 20 slices cubed white bread, crusts removed
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1-1/2 cups fresh blueberries
- 24 eggs, well beaten
- 3/4 cup of real maple syrup
- 3 cups skim milk
- 2 cups half & half
Grease a 12 x 18-inch or two 9 x 13-inch pans well. Scatter 2/3 of the bread in pan. Pinch off 1/2-inch bits of cream cheese and scatter on top. Scatter all blueberries over and top with remaining bread.
Mix well beaten eggs, maple syrup, skim milk, and half & half. Take the egg mixture and pour over bread. Mash bread down slightly with spatula. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
Bake 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes uncovered until lightly browned. (Can be broiled briefly to enhance browning.)
Serve with real maple syrup and spicy sausage.
