Baked apple french toast recipe, recipe Rating: 4.6

Ingredients
8 eggs
3 cups milk
2 Tablespoons vanilla
3 or 4 large green apples
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon water
6 to 12 slices bread (plain white, wheat, french, sourdough or your favorite)
Instructions:

Melt butter and add sugar and water. Slice apples (skin on) and simmer in butter mixture for 1 to 2 minutes. Pour in bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan and let cool. Beat together eggs, milk and vanilla. Slice bread in halves and layer over apples to cover whole dish. Pour egg mixture over all. Be sure all bread is wet. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.

Note:May be made the night before and baked in the morning.
