Bacon and onion bread recipe details
Ingredients
650 g | flour |
42 g | yeast, crumbled |
1 ½ tsp | salt |
2 tbsp | sugar |
1 | onion, chopped |
100 g | bacon, diced |
300 ml | lukewarm water |
Instructions
In a bowl combine the flour, yeast, salt, sugar and the water. Knead until the dough is smooth and pliable. Cover and allow to rise at a warm place until doubled in size.Fry the bacon in a pan until golden and crispy. Add the onions and fry until golden. Set aside and leave to cool.
Knead the bacon and onions into the dough. Shape to a loaf and with a sharp knife cut crosswise on top. Allow to rise for 20 minutes. Transfer the bread onto a lined baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before serving.
