Asiago parmesan cheese puffs recipe details
Ingredients
1 tbsp | butter or magarine |
1 tbsp | extra virgin olive oil |
¼ tsp | salt |
cayenne pepper | |
235 ml | water |
100 g | flour, all-purpose |
4 | eggs |
60 g | Asiago cheese, shredded |
60 g | Parmesan cheese, grated |
2 tbsp | chives, chopped |
Instructions
Preheat oven to 200°C.Combine butter, oil, salt, cayenne pepper, chives and water in a sauce pan, bring to a boil. Add all the flour at once. Stir until it forms a smooth ball.
Over low heat keep cooking until the ball gets drier but still smooth. Put the ball in a large bowl and beat in the eggs, one at a time.
Now stir in the cheeses. Use a spoon to drop batter onto a parchment covered baking sheet. Bake for 18 – 22 minutes until golden and firm. Serve warm.
Note: Experiment with different cheeses and/or omit the chives, add some crushed garlic for a different taste.
